I just finished Kim’s Convenience, and I feel like the ending could have been better. The show revolves around a Korean family operating a convenience store in Canada. Three episodes in I found myself Bing watching the show. I enjoyed the humor and the storylines. The fractured relationship between father and son. The mother getting MS. The daughter figuring herself out. That’s aside from the journeys of the the other characters. And even though, I am not Korean, I identified with parts of the show, having been a child of immigrants in the West.
And yet they ended the series without reaching a conclusion to these plot points. And I hat bugs is the show wasn’t Cancelled, the show runners just decided not to return. which I get if you’re at a point where you feel you can’t do a project justice, you should leave. But don’t add plot twists and introduce new storylines if you don’t plan on returning. Don’t give me a hot mess of a finale that sounds like your five year old niece/ nephew, came up with.
I really enjoyed the series, but the finale activated my PTSD. It brought back trauma from Game of Thrones and Soul Eater. I mean I still haven’t been able to start watching House of Dragons and Fire Force. This is how trust issues get developed and audiences get lost.
